Evan "Ted" Jessep has a unique place in the history of New Zealand and Australian rugby as he was both an
All Black and a Wallaby. He was followed in the 1950s, 1960s and the 1970s by Keith Gudsell, Des Connor and
Owen Stephens but making Jessep's case rare was that he only appeared both for and against the All Blacks
and the Wallabies in his international career. The unique aspect is that he played for the successful
New Zealand side in the first ever Bledisloe Cup match, then in 1934 was in the first Australian side to
win the trophy.
